Day-to-Day Operations

Overview

Once GoTab is set up, orders flow in from the app and fire to your GoTab kitchen automatically. This page covers where staff can see GoTab activity in the Dashboard and how to handle the most common situations.

Find GoTab Orders

  • Open the Purchases page of the Dashboard

  • Use the source filter and select GoTab to show only GoTab orders

GoTab orders are easy to recognize:

  • They carry a gold GoTab tag

  • They are titled GoTab Order — for example, "GoTab Order by Jane Smith"

  • The order details list each menu item with its modifiers (sizes, add-ons, and so on)

  • A Mobile Ordering Fee line appears in the totals when the fee applies

Settlements

GoTab orders appear in settlements like any other purchase, with GoTab shown as the source, so end-of-day reconciliation includes food and beverage sales automatically.

Virtual Credits

If Pay with Virtual Credits is enabled, Customers can spend their Credits balance at GoTab checkout. These transactions show up in the Customer's Credit history with a GoTab tag, alongside their other Credit activity. See Virtual Credits for how Credits work in general.

Hide a Menu from Customers

To stop a menu from showing in the app without touching it in GoTab, open Settings → GoTab, select Menus under the location, and turn off Visible to customers for that menu. Hidden menus keep syncing and keep their configuration — turn the switch back on to show them again. Changes save instantly.

Troubleshooting

  • A menu change made in GoTab isn't showing in the app — menus refresh automatically on a schedule. To refresh right away, open Settings → GoTab, find the location card, and click Re-sync.

  • A whole menu is missing from the app but looks fine in GoTab — it may be hidden. Open Settings → GoTab → Menus for the location and check the Visible to customers switch.

  • Customers at a pod can't order — open Settings → GoTab and check the Not reachable section at the bottom of the zone list. Assign a zone to that pod (see Set Up Venues and Courts).

  • The GoTab item is missing from the customer app menu — make sure the integration is enabled and saved on the Integrations tab of Company Settings, then turn on the GoTab item on the App Menu tab.

  • An item ordered by a Customer says it's unavailable — items removed or turned off in GoTab are marked unavailable automatically. Check the product in GoTab, then Re-sync the location.

Order preparation, kitchen workflow, and menu editing all happen in GoTab itself — the Dashboard is where you configure the connection and review orders and payments.
