# Link to the App

### Overview

This guide shows you how to format URLs on your Club's website so they properly push Customers into the PodPlay web app — and into the iOS app when available. Use this when setting up buttons, navigation links, or marketing CTAs on your Club's marketing site or in Customer-facing emails.

#### Prerequisites

* Your Club's PodPlay subdomain (e.g., `yourclub.podplay.app`)
* Access to edit links on your Club's website or email templates
* A clear sense of which page each link should send the customer to

#### URL Format

All links to the PodPlay App must follow this format: `https://[club_name].podplay.app/[path]`

Replace `[club_name]` with your Club's PodPlay subdomain. Using this exact format is what allows the link to deep-link into the iOS app when it's installed. Other formats (custom domains, shortened links, redirects) will only open the Web App.

#### Customer URLs — Most Common

These are the pages Customers visit most often, and the ones you'll most often link to from your marketing site or email campaigns.

* `/login` — Log in or sign up for a Profile
* `/login?utm_location=[name]` — Log in or sign up for a Profile at a specific location (if your Club has multiple locations)
* `/app-menus` — The Customer's main tab of the App
* `/account/membership` — Purchase a Membership
  * `/account/membership?location=[name]` — Purchase a Membership at a specific location (example: `https://sandbox.podplay.app/membership?location=brooklyn`)
* `/book/tables-standards` — Book a Reservation
* `/reservations` — Review current Reservations
* `/community/events` — Review and sign up for Events (Open Play, Clinics, Leagues, Tournaments, Party / Social)
  * `/community/events?location=[name]` — Review and sign up for Events at a specific location (example: `https://sandbox.podplay.app/community/events?location=brooklyn`)

Linking from a Google Business Profile? Those links need a specific format — see [Book With Google Links](/marketing/link-from-the-app/book-with-google-links.md).

#### Customer URLs — Less Frequently Visited

* `/reservations/history` — Review past Reservations
* `/invitation` — Review current invitations to a friend's Reservations
* `/account/payment` — Review the default and Membership payment methods on file
* `/account/favorite-replays` — Review replays the Customer has favorited
* `/account/purchase-history` — Chronological history of the Customer's purchases in the app
* `/account/help-center` — FAQs, Terms of Use, Privacy Policy
* `/account/preferences` — Where a Customer goes to edit their name on attendee list or Community Chat preferences

#### Admin URLs

For internal admin use, typically linked from internal tools or bookmarked, not from public marketing pages. Customers clicking these will be redirected to `/login`.

* `/admin/v2/overview` — Main Dashboard page
* `/admin/v2/events` — Events in Month-view
* `/admin/v2/customers` — Customer list
* `/admin/v2/coaches` — Coach profiles and upcoming sessions
* `/admin/v2/purchases` — Chronological list of purchases
* `/admin/v2/promo-codes` — Promo Codes for your environment
* `/admin/v2/analytics` — Analytics for a given date range

#### Examples

* Membership CTA: `https://yourclub.podplay.app/account/membership`
* "Book a court" button: `https://yourclub.podplay.app/book/tables-standards`
* Events page: `https://yourclub.podplay.app/community/events`

#### Verify It Worked

1. From a desktop browser, click each link — it should open the correct page on `[club_name].podplay.app`.
2. From an iPhone with the PodPlay app installed, click each link — it should deep-link into the iOS app to the matching screen.
3. From an iPhone without the app, click each link — it should open the page in the mobile web app.

#### Common Issues

* **Link opens the website but not the iOS app:** Confirm the URL uses `https://` and the exact `[club_name].podplay.app` subdomain. Custom domains, shortened links, and redirects break the iOS deep-link handoff.
* **404 or wrong page:** Paths are case-sensitive and must include the leading forward slash. Confirm the path matches exactly.
* **Admin pages send the user to `/login`:** Admin paths require an authenticated admin account — this is expected behavior for non-admins.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.podplay.app/marketing/link-from-the-app.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
