Promo Codes for POS Purchases

Overview

Promo Codes can discount eligible products, services, or both in a POS order. When creating a code, choose what the code can discount, then choose whether all matching items, specific items, or (for Products only) categories or subcategories qualify. Existing POS codes keep their previous targeting behavior. Location restrictions also apply, so an item must match the selected targeting and be sold at an allowed location. Reopened codes show their saved POS targeting as read-only details.

Set POS eligibility

  1. Click Create Promo Code.

  2. Under Applicable to, select POS.

  3. Under What can this Promo Code discount?, choose Products, Services, or Products and services.

  4. Under Which items qualify?, choose all items, specific items, or categories or subcategories for Products. Select targets when needed and choose the locations where the Promo Code can be used.

Choose specific Categories or Subcategories when the code should apply only to products in those categories. Categories are available only when Products is selected. Choose All products, All services, or All products and services to apply the code to every eligible item in that scope.

First Time Booking codes

First Time Booking codes cannot be used for POS purchases. The setting is for a Customer's booking history, so the Promo Code drawer does not allow POS eligibility when First Time Booking is turned on.

If an older Promo Code has both settings, create a replacement code with valid settings. POS eligibility and First Time Booking cannot be combined.

Choose categories carefully

POS category rules keep a reference to the selected product category or subcategory. POS targeting is set during creation and cannot be changed after the Promo Code is created. Removing POS under Applicable to while creating a code clears the item type, targeting method, and targets.

Cancel a failed POS order

If an immediate payment for a POS order fails, open the order details and choose Cancel order from the actions menu. This cancels the failed order and releases its Promo Code reservation so the code's remaining uses are available again.
