# Scoreboards

### Overview

One of the most frustrating things as a Player in any sport is disagreeing about the score of a game. With Scoreboards big enough for everyone on the court to see, your Customers can rest easy knowing there is zero dispute about the score.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Scoreboards are available on the Pro and Autonomous(+) Tier**. Scoreboards are connected to their respective court/table and not only track the game’s score, available to Customers for reference later on in the App, they also provide a landing space for advertisements or marketing efforts.
{% endhint %}

Scoreboards are visual representations of a match and appear on the TV above the court or table, and are usually above the kiosk. The Scoreboard is comprised of a Kiosk and Monitor next to the court. The information on the Scoreboards are:

* Names of participants on the court
* The score of the match
* The set of the match
* Which Customer is serving
* The current time
* A countdown clock (shows up 5 minutes before the end of the Reservation or Event)

And various animations that flash across the screen as points are scored.

Scoreboards designs leverage your Club's logo and brand colors. The designs are set.

### Tracking Score

To use the Scoreboard, Customers can tap on the Kiosk or use the Play Buttons to track the scores in a game and match. As the game's point progress, points will increase on the Scoreboard, and icons will appear next to the Customer's name if they are serving.

**For ping pong Clubs**, the Scoreboard will show who is serving by highlighting the server's points and how the match games progression stands at the top of the Scoreboard.

**For pickleball Clubs**, the Scoreboard will show who is the first or second server by way of a ball icon :baseball: or two ball icons :baseball::baseball: next to the servering Player's name (Dora is the second server below). The other team will also show who is standing up in front of the kitchen and who is receiving the serve (Joy is receiving Dora's server below).

**For padel and tennis Clubs**, points will show on the scoreboard in the same way since the point-counting system is the same for both sports. This feature is in developerment.

### Using the Kiosk

The recommended location to install a Kiosk is at the centerline of the court or table. The [Kiosk](https://podplay.gitbook.io/docs/scoreboard-and-kiosk/kiosk) is touchscreen and points can be added, subtracted, and Quick Replays can be captured by tapping on the Kiosk.

* Tap the number above a Customer's name to add a point or denote that the rally has been won by that Customer.
* Tap the pink button in the bottom left of the Kiosk to capture a Quick Replay
* Tap the `Swap sides` button to change the players in the game from one side to the other side
* Tap the `Reset score` button to revert the scores back to zero
* Tap the `+ Add guest` button to change the players in the match's game

### Using the Play Button

To use the Play Button to track scores in a match's game:

* **Click once** to add a point
* **Click twice** to remove a point
* **Click and hold** to capture a Replay

These three actions are performed by the Customer’s team who won the rally, even if that team did not win the point, they will click the Play Button. Every time the Play Button is clicked, the Scoreboard will incrementally count the score. When the scoring has finished, the Scoreboard will animate and clearly identify the winner of the game.

As the participants on the court are playing a game or match, they can click on the Kiosk near the centerline or the Play Buttons near the baseline of the court to add points on the Scoreboard and Kiosk. Depending on the type of booking, the Scoreboard will have a different visual before a match is started.

### Countdown Timer

When the Reservation or Event is ending, the Scoreboard will show a timer at the top to engage with Customers on the court or table in a game. To help inform the Customers on the court about their remaining play time, the Scoreboard will the timer when 5 minutes remain in the Reservation or Event.

This countdown display is large and visibly jarring at the top of the scoreboard.

Once the countdown timer ends, the scoreboard will display a `Thank you for playing!` message, and will show the next Reservation or Event name for all Customers.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.podplay.app/pro-system/page-2.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
