# Kid sub-Profiles & Kid-only Events

### Overview

If your Club has a lot of children coming in to the Club, you can ask your CSM to turn on the Kids Feature. This feature allows a Customer to create a Kid sub-Profile, within their Profile, so the Customer can sign their child up for Kids-only Events.

**This feature is mainly used for:** after-school activities, summer camps, or holiday camps.

Today, a Kid sub-Profile cannot join a regular Event or Reservation, they can only join Kids-only Events. If a child needs to join a regular Event or Reservation, see Creating a standalone Profile for a child.

### Creating a Kid sub-Profile

There are three ways to create a Kid sub-Profile: a Customer creates one from Account Info in the App, a Customer creates one while signing up for a Kids-only Event, or an Admin creates one in the Dashboard.

For a Customer to add a kid to their Profile from the App:

1. Open the App
2. Tap the `More` tab
3. Tap `Account Info`
4. Tap `Kid Profiles`
5. Tap `Add a Kid Profile`
6. Fill in the child's name and date of birth
7. Add any allergies
8. Sign the waiver

Now that this Customer has a Kid sub-Profile attached to their Profile, they can sign their child up for Kids-only Events.

For an Admin to create a Kid sub-Profile:

1. Navigate to the Customer's Profile
2. Open the `KIDS` drawer (near the top of the Overview tab)
3. Click the `Kid` button
4. Fill out the side panel that appears

**Admins cannot accept the child's waiver** on behalf of the parent.

The parent signs the waiver for their child when signing the child up for a Kids-only Event.

A Customer can also add a Kid sub-Profile while signing up for a Kids-only Event:

1. Open the App
2. Tap the `Events` tab
3. Select a Kids-only Event
4. If no Kid sub-Profile exists, tap `Add a Kid Profile`
5. Fill in the child's name and date of birth
6. Add any allergies
7. Sign the waiver
8. Sign the child up for the Event

If the Customer already has one or more Kid sub-Profiles, the App prompts them to choose which children to add to the Event instead.

### Creating a Kids-only Event

When you are [**Creating an Event**](https://help.podplay.app/en/articles/734977), an Admin checks the `Kids Only Event` box:

IIn doing this, the Admin is saying that ONLY Kid sub-Profiles can sign up for this Event. A regular adult with a regular Profile will not have the option to sign up for this Event when they review it in the App.

When a Customer goes to sign their child up for the Kids-only Event, the Customer receives a prompt to either choose one or several of their children to add, or to `Add a Kid` sub-Profile to their Profile.

Once a Customer has signed up for a Kids-only Event, their name and their child's name appear in the Attendee list of the Event.

The icons under the Profile list show who is the parent and who is the child. If an Admin wants to review the children on the Event, they can click the `Print` button above the Attendee list and a pop-up appears. This pop-up shows all of the information pertaining to any child added to the Event.

### Creating a standalone Profile for a child (Admin-assisted)

Use this method when a child needs their own full Profile rather than a Kid sub-Profile, for example to join a regular Event or a Reservation. This requires Admin assistance because the child's Profile will not have its own phone number.

#### Customer steps

1. On a computer or phone browser, go to the Web App
2. Create a new Profile using the parent's email with a `+` modifier, for example `kyle@podplay.app` becomes `kyle+child@podplay.app`
3. Tap the `More` tab
4. Tap `Account Info`
5. Tap `Payment Methods`
6. Add a credit card to this Profile

Emails sent to a `+` address are delivered to the parent's inbox, so the parent receives all confirmations and action receipts for the child's Profile.

#### Admin steps (at the front desk)

1. Search for the child's Profile (the one with the `+` email)
2. Add a placeholder phone number to the Profile (can be a fake phone number)
3. Sign up the child's Profile for an Event or add them to a Reservation
